Lapis Lazuli, this famous rock is make up of various minerals, principally Blue Lazurite & Sodalite, White Calcite and Gold Pyrite. It has been used in jewellery for thousands of years, most coming from the West Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan, other present day but less valuable deposits are found near Lake Baikal in Russia and north of Santiago in Chile. It is also know in smaller quantities from Eastern Canada.
