History of Holly Yashi
Holly Yashi, Inc. was founded in 1981 by Holly Hosterman and Paul Lubitz in Arcata, California. They were both graduates of Humboldt State University, and began their jewellery venture in a one-car garage. They had a passion for handmade jewellery that blended artistic expression with wearable art.
Their first designs were hand-cut animal-themed earrings made of brass and silver and quickly gained popularity through sales at craft fairs and farmers’ markets. Their discovery of niobium metal in 1981 led to the development of a signature style that has become a hallmark of Holly Yashi jewellery. The company has since grown to a 15,000-square-foot design studio. They have been featured in numerous magazines and on television shows, showcasing the beauty and creativity of their artisanal jewellery.
